'Horrible Bosses' Star Charlie Day Visits 'Pacific Rim'

Charlie DayIf you've ever seen an episode of "It?s Always Sunny in Philadelphia" or have caught even a glimpse of today's "Horrible Bosses," then you already know that Charlie Day personifies the term "scene stealer." And fortunately for us, Guillermo Del Toro has deigned to channel Day's nervous "doofus" energy in the most unlikely of ways: as a scientist in his upcoming alien movie, "Pacific Rim."

"This role isn?t comedic,? Day told The Los Angeles Times about his character. ?It?s just quirky. I?m really excited about it because it?s something very different for me. I play a scientist, so this guy can read and write. Unlike my other characters, this guy?s not an idiot. He?s a scientist who has knowledge of these creatures."

In the casting news after the jump, Mark Wahlberg and Jonah Hill team up, an actor from "Modern Family" joins "The To Do List," and Melissa McCarthy and Ryan Lee jump on board Judd Apatow's latest comedy.

Mark Wahlberg And Jonah Hill Are The "Good Time Gang"
Why stop a good thing if it's working? That is assumedly why Mark Wahlberg and Jonah Hill are reteaming and both returning to the cop comedy genre in "Good Time Gang." 24 Frames has the news, saying that the film hopes to channel the same type of buddy comedy that "Lethal Weapon" had.

"Modern Family" Joins "The To Do List"
Nolan Gould has made a name for himself on ABC's hit "Modern Family," but now The Hollywood Reporter has announced that he will be heading to the big screen in Maggie Carey's latest, "The To Do List." He will be playing Max, the leader of the Pool Rats gang who spends the summer hanging out by the local pool, wreaking havoc and trying to hang out with the older kids. Also starring in the movie are Andy Samberg, Bill Hader and Aubrey Plaza.

Melissa McCarthy And "Super 8's" Ryan Lee Join "Knocked Up" Spin-Off
Here's good news if you're a fan of this summer's scene stealers: "Bridesmaids'" Melissa McCarthy and "Super 8" newcomer Ryan Lee have come on board Judd Apatow's untitled "Knocked Off" spin-off that will feature the reprisal of Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in their roles from the previous film. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, and believes that Lee will play the son of McCarthy, who is a mom at the school that Rudd and Mann's children attend. Albert Brooks and Megan Fox have also been previously cast in the flick.
